The small city of Barberton is a suburban community located just southwest of Downtown Akron. Nicknamed “The Magic City,” Barberton is well known for its preserved historic architecture, particularly the many French Renaissance Revival-style structures built by the town’s namesake, O.C. Barber, in the early 20th century.
While primarily a residential community serving large numbers of Akron-area commuters, the city features a large and diverse selection of shopping and dining options clustered at the center of town around Lake Anna.
