Hinesville, GA, sits at the heart of Liberty County, shaped in large part by its close ties to Fort Stewart, one of the largest Army installations in the eastern United States. That military presence gives the city a distinct energy — a steady, hardworking community where new faces arrive regularly and neighbors tend to look out for one another. Beyond the base, Hinesville has grown into a self-sufficient small city with a downtown core, a range of shopping and dining along Highway 84, and neighborhoods that run the gamut from established family homes to newer developments catering to a mix of residents. Housing here is notably affordable, with options spanning single-family rentals, townhomes, and apartment communities at price points that are tough to beat in today's market. The surrounding area offers easy access to the Georgia coast — Savannah is about 45 minutes away, and the beaches of Tybee Island aren't much farther.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
