About This Home
Enjoy the entire FURNISHED house with two queen beds, two large bathrooms, a large kitchen, patio, and grill, on a quiet street just two blocks to the famous Italian Market, 5 blocks to South Street, 5 blocks to Pat's & Geno's cheese steaks, and a 20 minute walk to the Convention Center or historic Philadelphia sites - the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Elfreth's Alley, Constitution Center, Reading Terminal Market. For $10, grab an Uber to the Museum of Art, The Barnes, Franklin Institute, etc. This neighborhood is convenient to everything, but not in the middle of it all. Walk a few blocks in any direction for all types of activities. From Penn's Landing to South Street, Passyunk Square to the gayborhood, Avenue of the Arts to Rittenhouse Square. But honestly, you don't need to go more than a few blocks for some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. Passyunk Avenue has become a mecca for trendy new restaurants, and many are amazing. South Street is known for eclectic shopping, divey bars, and a variety of good quick food options. The Washington Avenue area has become nicknamed "Little Saigon" for its very rich variety in ethnic restaurants. Fourth Street ("Fabric Row") is also becoming a happenin' strip, and is just a few blocks away. Of course one of the more well-known stops, the Italian Market, is just two blocks west. You can get basically to anything and everything you might need in this section of the city, and most within a few blocks of the house. There are both a CVS and a Rite-Aid nearby, for groceries - Whole Foods, Superfresh, and ACME within walking distance, and within a couple miles car ride - a Target. Buses go both north and south on the closest numbered streets. Uber or Lyft usually gets to the doorstep within five minutes. Traditional cabs are available on Washington, however we walk basically everywhere.

Bella Vista, which in Italian means “beautiful sight,” gets its name from the picturesque Philly skyline that can easily be seen from the community. Southwark is commonly referred to as Queen Village.
Together, the Bella Vista-Southwark community lies two miles southeast of Downtown Philadelphia, and encompasses many blocks between two of its liveliest commercial roads: South Street and Washington Avenue.
Old-world Italian influences play a major role in the charm of the community, and remains one of the main attractions to the area. Visitors and residents alike look forward to spending a couple of hours at the 9th Street Italian Market, where rich aromas of strong espresso, fresh seafood, and homemade pastas fill the room. Every year, a festival in honor of the market is held and features family-friendly entertainment and of course, delicious foods and treats!
In addition to housing one of the original open-air markets in the U.S.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
