While it wasn't actually settled until 1834, Louisville is known as the "Constitution Town." It earned the moniker during the 1950s, when resident Olga T. Weber petitioned city officials to enact a Constitution Day. The day was established, and she later asked the US Senate to designate a Constitution Week.
