Fletcher is scenic city in western North Carolina, and is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Barely 30 minutes south of its more famous sister, Fletcher shares all of its amenities and characteristics in a more affordable package.
The town of Fletcher is nestled between the Nantahala National Forest and Pisgah National Forest, making it a prime spot for adventurers, and imbibing the area with a rural feel. Sweeping hills characterize the area, with large homes and apartment complexes sitting on vast swaths of land. There’s a large number of breweries dotted across the landscape as well, and Southridge Shopping Center will cater to most of your retail needs.
The sheer natural beauty of the area is its true calling card. The nearby national forests make for endless hiking and camping opportunities. Fletcher isn’t isolated though, and there are fantastic schools that serve the area, like T.C. Roberson High School.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
