Just three and a half miles outside the heart of Downtown Columbia sits the neighborhood of Rosewood, one of the city’s most distinct and well-known communities. You’ll find mostly single-family homes for rent here, but new apartment communities are popping up closer to Five Points and Williams Brice Stadium. Charming ranch-style homes and towering trees give Rosewood a vibrant, laid-back atmosphere, one that’s punctuated by all the of the offerings on Rosewood Drive. There’s upscale brewpubs like The Kraken, long-standing burger spots like Rosewood Dairy Bar, and convenient local grocers such as Rosewood Market & Deli.
Rosewood’s location is near perfect; in five minutes you can be on Interstate 77 for a commute almost anywhere, and in the same amount of time be in the heart of Columbia on Main Street or Five Points.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 5th & Sloan
Tons of issues with the apartments. Flooding of units, plumbing issues, things breaking, and maintenance taking a crazy amount of time to fix things. Plus the first floor smells like sewage 80% of the time.
I like the apartment, and I like the area. That being said, they will tell you it’s very quiet and insulated, that’s not true. I can hear your conversation from down the hall. Either an elephant lives upstairs or it’s not well insulated. The door fobs don’t work half the time, truly sometimes I can’t get into the apartment with my keys, so people will just prop the doors open. Also, there’s been an alarm for the elevator going off every thirty seconds for the last 2 weeks and no one will fix it. Also, no one picks up their dog poop (they say they’re going to fix it, but it’s been that way since I’ve been here for a few months), and there’s limited parking. I would say the location is great and the apartment is nice, but for the money I would strongly consider all your options.
Not a bad place to live. The only complaints I have are the loud crosswalk bell, the A/C being inop during the summer, and packages not being able to be delivered because all doors are locked throughout the day.
