About This Property
Located in the Ocean Road Historic District, Lion Head presides over two acres of oceanfront property. Designed in the 1880's by eminent Boston artchitects Peabody & Stearns, this shingle-style classic boasts 180-degree vistas: Point Judith Lighthouse to the Newport Bridge. Enjoy sunrises over Narragansett Bay and Atlantic Ocean breezes. Inside, an abundance of windows maximize the panoramic water views, and interior living spaces flow effortlessly outside, where an east-facing screened porch is a wonderful destination to watch the sunrise with coffee. A separate uncovered terrace is perfect for dining al fresco. The chef's eat-in kitchen offers plenty of counter space and a spacious stainless-steel topped island, as well as gas cooking on a six burner Thermador rangetop, and stainless steel appliances. Living spaces are comfortable and plentiful, and enriched by hardwood floors, coffered ceilings, and built-in bookcases. Upstairs there are two en suite master bedrooms, and the additional 5 bedrooms are serviced by 2 full and 2 half bathrooms. There is also a library. Just 5 minutes from Narragansett Town Beach, the iconic Towers, and the Pier's shops and restaurants, “Lion Head†offers all of the ease one could wish for in a beach get-a-way. Voted by Boston Globe Readers as New England’s best beach town, Narragansett, Rhode Island truly is the quintessential summer destination. **Two week minimum stay preferred, please inquire for availability information.**

Wedged between the Narrow River and the Atlantic Ocean, Narragansett provides that laidback, beach town atmosphere wrapped in New England charm. The town itself is adorable, complete with cozy cottages and a terrific shopping area along South Pier Road and Point Judith Road. It has that historic charm, as well, with a history that began around 1723, when it was still part of South Kingstown. In 1888 it separated from the larger city and became a town in 1901.
But cozy atmosphere and history aside, here it’s all about the beaches. Narragansett’s population doubles during the summer months, with visitors seeking the town’s beautiful strip of beaches. The 60-acre Scarborough State Beach includes an observation tower and a boardwalk, Roger W. Wheeler State Beach includes a playground and a pavilion, and Salty Brine State Beach has a “green” pavilion complete with a wind turbine and solar panels along with a concession stand.
