About This Home
This historic 1860s house was one of the originals built in Burlington while it was a bustling port exporting lumbar almost two centuries ago. It is right in the heart of downtown, with a view of Lake Champlain from the porch, one block from the lake/bikepath and a short 7 min walk to Church St and the same to the heart of Pine Street's restaurants, breweries and art galleries. The apartment (half of the duplex) has been updated with a beautiful kitchen with bar, hickory cupboards, gas stove and hidden, stackable washer/dryer. There is a characteristically narrow/steep staircase leading upstairs to a landing, from which the large front bedroom and the smaller guest bedroom/study/office both extend. There is a walk-in closet also from the landing. Escape into the fenced backyard ringed with gardens for an incredible oasis right in the middle of the city! You can lounge in the yard on a lawnchair and escape the city, or swing on the front porch swing and watch the world go by, collecting compliments on your beautiful gardens. The bathroom is located downstairs, and has a tiled bathtub/shower. This is truly a special home, that you will feel right at home in. A new outdoor camera (on all sides) and inside door/window sensor security system adds to piece of mind. Welcome home to a truly special and rare downtown Burlington oasis!
Rare Downtown Oasis! This 1100 square foot, two story Townhouse layout apartment occupies the other half of my cherished Maple Street duplex home. Beautiful, refurbished 1860s historic home one block from Perkins Pier (Lake Champlain) and the Burlington Bike path, a 7 minute walk to Church St, 5 minute walk to Pine St, this house is in the middle of everything you love about Burlington. It has one large bedroom and one small, the second being best used as a study/office or guest room. Established gardens line the surprisingly large, privacy fenced-in back-yard, which we share. The kitchen is gorgeous--hickory cabinets, pendant lights over the bar, gas stove and tucked away, a stackable washer/dryer. This unit rarely comes up for rent, and is truly one of Burlington's favorite homes. Sorry, no pets of any kind.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
