Upstairs 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in a community-based home. There's a lovely fenced yard, garden, laundry and sauna. Looking for social, easy going, *relaxed* people for sharing space, occasional meals, seasonal yard work parties. I'm the owner (early 50s, she/her), live on the main floor, I have two dogs and a cat, work from home for the library, have a background as an artist, am passionate about pre-cycling/recycling/waste-reduction and conscious/ accountable/ direct/ authentic communication. Mateo (late 30s, he/him), from Colombia, lives in the basement apartment, he's a painter and high school science/art teacher. The apartment is centered off a hallway - with 2 bedrooms on either side, a front living room and a rear full eat-in retro kitchen w/ dishwasher and fill bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower combo. There's plenty of deep closets for storage and room for 2 bikes in the common entry. Hopefully you have area rugs and cool with mostly shoes off to help with noise transfer. We're 1 block from peninsula park in north Portland - walking distance to coffee, record stores, restaurants, library, grocery stores etc. Free street parking. This is a home with synthetic smell sensitivities (ie glade plug in air fresheners, febreeze) so no synthetic scents please (this includes laundry detergents since the washer and dryer are shared.) We do burn incense/sage/palo santo/sweetgrass, however. There's no smoking on premises. Rent includes all utilities, high speed wifi, and Ridwell for you master recyclers! First month's rent plus equal amount for deposit due upon lease signing. Must be able to prove consistent income of at least two times the monthly rent. Lease terms are 12 months. Accepting applicants who keep a clean and tidy space, who are smart recyclers, walk relatively quietly (for those below), have good rental history and verifiable income equal to 2x the rent or more. $200 deposit with complete application, refundable if declined, otherwise applied to your security deposit. Pets will be considered based on circumstances and references, but not after the fact. A refundable pet deposit of up to $500 will apply.
