Tucked into the southern edge of Monmouth County, Manasquan is a small Jersey Shore borough where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Manasquan River and everyday life moves at a noticeably relaxed pace. Incorporated in 1887, the borough carries a long coastal history rooted in its Lenape origins — the name itself derives from the Lenape language and refers to a place of gathering near water.
