Situated at the southern end of College Park, Calvert Hills Historic District exemplifies the cultural, social, and historic heritage of Prince George’s County. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Calvert Hills Historic District was once home to the Wright brothers, and sits adjacent to the College Park airport, which was the oldest continuously operating airport in the world until its temporary closure on September 11, 2001.
Calvert Hills Historic District is a primarily residential neighborhood, consisting of many single-family homes and apartment buildings built between the 1890s and the late 1990s. In addition to the neighborhood’s rich heritage, residents enjoy easy access to the Anacostia Trail System as well as recreational destinations like Lake Artemesia and Greenbelt National Park. Downtown College Park and the University of Maryland are both within walking distance of Calvert Hills as well.
