Between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara combines coastal living with Mediterranean-style architecture. The city's Spanish Colonial Revival buildings and year-round mild climate have earned it the nickname "The American Riviera." The rental market remains competitive, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $2,224 per month (up 3.6% year-over-year), while two-bedrooms average $3,235 (up 2.6%). The Mesa and Upper State Street areas feature apartment communities and rental homes near beaches and downtown.
Santa Barbara's outdoor lifestyle centers around its beaches, State Street shopping district, and the historic Mission Santa Barbara. The University of California Santa Barbara campus contributes to the area's educational atmosphere. Local events include farmers' markets throughout the week and the annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Residents have access to numerous hiking trails and bike paths, including Rattlesnake Canyon trail.

About the Listing Agent
Ed Fuller
San Roque Realty Inc
San Roque Realty, like the area of Santa Barbara it is located in, is named after Saint Roch who, in the early 14th century, traveled Europe tending to the needs of plague victims. San Roque Realty, in that spirit of helping, has served the Santa Barbara area since its founding in 1965 by the late Jack Kelly, a past president of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors, Lifetime Director of the California Association of Realtors, and the named annual Santa Barbara Association of Realtors Jack Kelly Exchange Award. It was bought in 1989 by Ed Fuller who started his real estate sales career with San Roque Realty ten years earlier. In the 39 years of brokering real estate, Ed Fuller has successfully completed residential transactions from hundreds to millions of dollars, from beachfront properties to mountain acreage, and from Carpinteria ranches to Goleta homes, including Montecito and Hope Ranch. He has sold and leased apartment complexes, office buildings, retail and industrial properties. He has successfully completed nearly every type of transaction including court appointed receivership, bankruptcy, divorce, estate, trust, short, bank owned property sales, and 1031 tax deferred exchanges including reverse exchanges. Prior to joining San Roque Realty, Ed Fuller, a native of Santa Barbara, worked in the construction field gaining first hand knowledge of building practices; then in the real estate finance field as a loan officer. He has been a real estate investor since 1974 involved in the purchase, ownership and divestiture of twelve properties. He has first hand experience in renovating, remodeling and redecorating properties. In addition, he successfully subdivided, renovated and marketed an eight unit condominium conversion project in Goleta, "Villa Condoleta". Ed Fuller holds a California Brokers license having completed all the required real estate courses at Santa Barbara Community College. He holds a certificate in Professional Accounting from UCSB Extension, and is Corporate Broker for San Roque Realty Inc. He has been a member of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors since 1979 and subscribes to the National Association of Realtors’ Code of Ethics. He holds the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredit Buyers Representative (ABR), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) and several other designations. A believer in giving back to the community in 2014 he served as President of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors and as a Director from 2006 to 2015. He has served on the Professional Standards committee, Budget and Finance, charity, Grievance, and several decades on the Government Relations Committees. He has chaired the Board of Realtors Political Action Committee, the Statistical Review, Multiple Listing Service and Technology, and the Budget and Finance committees. Ed has been chosen by the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors to serve as a Director of the California Association of Realtors from 2014 thru 2018, except for 2017 when he ran in the state General Election for California Assembly Member from the 37th District. He has been a member of the Santa Barbara Rental Property Association since 1974, serving on its Board of Directors for six years, and as Treasurer of its Political Action Committees from 1981 to 2016.
