New Stanton resides in Westmoreland County. Back in the early 1800s, the borough was laid out along the main roadway that led from Somerset to Pittsburg. During its development years in the 1870s, New Stanton gained a school, house of worship, saddlery shop, and boot store.
Today, New Stanton residents enjoy numerous restaurants throughout the borough plus the local park, which is a great place to go walking or toss a Frisbee. The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and TJ’s Restaurant and Sports Lounge are great places to dine, as well as some local family-owned spots. The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
