Property Ratings at 405 Austin Apartments
You can’t get in touch with the landlord, the manager thinks she can go in and out of your apartment whenever she wants and doesn’t solve 90% of the problems you report. In a short time living there I’ve had problems with noise, mice, invasion of privacy etc and the owner refuses to get contacted directly. Some neighbors are just terrible, super loud late at night. The washing machine gets extremely dirty because people wash muddy mats and leave dog hair inside. Just overall a terrible experience. They’re selling the building right now and they think they can go inside your apartment every week for several hours just because they text “showings this day, from this time to this time”. There’s no professionalism or respect. If you want anything solved you need to call the police or report them somewhere else. Wild experience.
My girlfriend and I moved in here in the middle of spring, upon sighing the lease we were promised a screendoor ( Every other Apartment has one besides us. Coming to the end of our lease we have contact them multiple times always given false promises. You have to ask managment multiple times to get any kind of repair down on anything. You honestly have to fight with them, and constantly remind them you need things fixed. The interior looks well and remodeled, but after a few days it becomes obvious how shoddy all the work is. Talking to someone who lived here for a few years he asked me if I have had any experience with Black Mold that was common in the Apartments. 1 washer/dryer for 14 unites!? And it was broken about 50% of the time anyways. Ended up taking more trips to the laundrymat than using the ONLY washer and dryer for the building. Heating/Cooling is awful. In winter time the electric heater combined with the HUGE and drafty windows did barely anything. Ran an electric bill of around $150 to be freezing cold and needed to get a space heater. The walls are made of cement so WiFi- Phone calls is always a struggle. Worst renting experience of my life. For a 2 BDR they should be asking for $750 not $1,099
But the outside not so much. Newly renovated so all brand new hard wood floors, new appliances and fresh paint. The building is small, about 14 units. So it's quite for the most part. We are located on a busy street next to a stop light so traffic during rush hour is very noisy. I have to keep the windows closed. But other than that I love my little place. I don't think I'm going to resign my lease in may so in hoping apartments.com can find me my new home!
