About This Property
39 Day Avenue, Northampton - Large 6 Bed/2 BA Home, Walk/Bike to Downtown, One Block from Rt. 9 Bus Stop and One Block to the Bike Path (super close to the pedestrian bridge over the Connecticut River...) Check back 8/25 for updated pictures. Available October 1. This recently purchased large single-family home was in the same family for many years. It is a bit dated and has some deferred maintenance, but some recent work has been done to spruce it up (see below), and overall it is well-maintained and has lots of nice original and added details, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and several porches and decks, as well as an enclosed back porch. The eat-in kitchen is spacious with nice cabinets and a dishwasher, large closets, and first floor laundry with a nice washer and dryer. Also, there is a large basement with both interior and bulkhead access. There are a number of entrances to the home, increasing flexibility of use… Recent updates this year include painting, refinishing upstairs hardwood floors, a new stainless steel dishwasher, and a pretty good handyman once over. Video tour is available. The original house has a living room and parlor, dining room a bonus room (with a closet) that could be used as an extra bedroom (included in the 6 bedroom count above) or as an office or den. There was a large addition put on the rear of the home where the spacious eat-in kitchen a full bath and 2 additional bedrooms were added. The kitchen, living and dining rooms, bonus room/extra bedroom and full bath are on the first floor. The second floor has 5 bedrooms (3 are hardwood floors, 2 are painted plywood and somewhat long and narrow) and a full bathroom. All bedrooms have decent closets. The bathrooms are a decent size and are nice, clean and in good condition. Eventually, this large existing home will be split into two units, so there will be some occasional visits by the owner for planning purposes. The back of the property will be redeveloped into additional small homes in a few years, so there will be some occasional planning happening on the property as well. The existing two-car garage will be available for bicycle and other storage, and vehicle parking will also be possible in the garage unless/until the owner requires the garage space for storage. There is also plenty of surface parking. Trash, recycling and compost collection (by the Pedal People!) included. Cable service available. Water and Sewer included (Tenant pays gas and electricity). Pets negotiable. No smoking. Snow removal and yard care included. The location: The location is ideal for accessing everything, including downtown, the bike path, the highway, and the Route 9 bus routes. Conveniently located less than a block from the Route 9 bus stop at Sheldon Field Park, on the B43 and many other bus routes. One block from the bike path. Very short walk to the pedestrian bridge over the Connecticut River. 7 minute walk to the edge of downtown Northampton (The Roost), 20 minute walk to Smith College.
39 Day Ave is a house located in Hampshire County and the 01060 ZIP Code.
