Maywood Park is known for its quiet residential character and strict tree preservation rules, which give the neighborhood a rare wooded atmosphere while still being close to Portland. The home sits on two lots with unusually large grounds, including a spacious front and backyard surrounded by mature trees. One of the lots functions almost like a private park for the property, creating a peaceful and green setting around the home. On one side of the house is Maywood City Park running along that side of the street. Directly across from the house is another city park that also includes a bike and walking path. Following this path in one direction is about a five-minute walk to the transit station whose next stop is the airport. Walking the opposite direction along the same path, which runs near I-205, leads to Gateway Transit Center in about twenty minutes.
