Do not move into Gentry Manor Apts. unless you like room mates (hundreds of them). The pest problem at Gentry Manors is out of control. I had cockroaches in my furniture, kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, shower, books and even my toothbrush. I was ashamed to have guests over to my apartment because of cockroaches crawling across my ceiling and walls. The bed bugs were even worse. I would wake up in the morning with bites all over my body. The itchy welts would last for several days. I even found bed bugs in my clothing which made me feel uncomfortable about going to work and visiting friends. I was easily bitten over a hundred times in the course of several months. The problem became so bad that I had to move out of Gentry Manor. Of course, I had to dispose of my bed, couch, and lazy boy chair because I did not want to transport any pests to my new location. It was expensive to hire a company to haul these these things away. Living at Gentry Manor was a horrific experience.

Such a perfect location, walking distance to downtown. I highly recommend this complex for anyone seeking a great property ran by a team who really cares about going above and beyond. Griselda and Sam are amazing! They were incredibly helpful with my leasing agreement and arrangements to move in. Will definitely refer friends!

My husband and I moved in the community in October 2020. From the moment we came in looking for an apartment we were treated like family. The management team is doing great and I appreciate all the effort they are taking to keep residents happy, always responsive to requests and very nice people. Griselda and Sam thank you!

Highly recommend, if peace, quiet and safety is your priority, then this should be the first place to look at. Great leasing and management. I'm glad that I chose this place to live in. I am 100% satisfied with my stay so far...

I asked about the studio and 1 bedroom apartment several times by email. Management has yet to return an email to me.

No hot water. Cockroaches. Worst of all... Infested with Bed Bugs. They crawl on you when you're sleeping and bite and eat on you in your sleep. Leaving a big itchy bite on you that scars.

I’ve been living in this building for almost a year now and cannot wait to get out! It’s cheaply made and dirty. Air and rain come right through the old windows, there are roaches and ants. The water runs orange in the bathroom for the first few seconds and the hot water is seriously lacking throughout the day. I take around 2 cold showers a week but when I asked they said it was normal because “everyone is using it at the same time”.. Also my bathtub has been peeling off the cheap coat of paint they put one for weeks now but they don’t seem in a rush to fix anything. They said they would simply dump another coat on top of it but never came back to do it.. The walls are thin so be ready to hear your neighbors especially at night! The garbage containers overflow regularly and it isn’t uncommon to find needles on the parking lot due to junkies hanging around.. The front door is basically never locked and if you come home too late, good luck finding a parking spot.. Do I really need to keep going?

Do not waist your time and money. This was the worst apartment I have ever rented. Management is a joke. They do not maintain these apartments and they are heavily infested with roaches and beetles. The units are over populated. As much a five people living in a one bedroom. Don't fall for the lies.

This is a nice building in a great location with reasonable rent. The building manager, Griselda is very personable and she and her staff do an excellent job of taking care of any issues that may arise in a timely manor. I really enjoyed living here!

I spent 3 years at Gentry Manor and have to say it was very reasonably priced, the area is fantastic and it is a quick walk to the train station. This is a commuter on a budget dream come true. If you are on a budget and looking to provide your kids an opportunity to go to some of the best schools around this is a great place. When in my apartment I couldn't hear my neighbors and everyone I met was nice and respectful. The halls and common areas are clean and maintained. Any issues I had were quickly resolved when reported to the management team. Another perk is the management team. They are extremely friendly and quick to take action on any issues reported to them. Their friendly service and genuine care for the residents is felt when interacting with them.

I've been a resident of Gentry manor for 11 years. My apartment is very clean and spacious. The grounds outside are very beautiful, plants are so pretty and when you walk around the building is very clean. They take good care of the property. Its a very calming environment walking around and inside the building. Tenants are very friendly and management go above and beyond to help you with any needs and when you walk into the office the very first person you will see is ms sanchez, she's very warm, gracious and helpful and if you have a work order request, it's taken care of right away. I love my apartment.

This is a beautiful place to live. The apartments are very nice, brand new carpet, freshly painted, anything that may need to be looked at or fixed is taken care of the same day you call the office to report your apartments needs! They send maintenance over to access what the problem right away however please keep in mind emergencies come first, before just something you “want” them to do for you so be patient someone will address your situation as quickly as they possibly can. Ms Sanchez is extremely polite, eager to talk to you and do anything for you.

I'm surprised of how some people can just write lies because they have nothing better to do but to get in front of a monitor, post the wrong information and try to give management and this building a bad reputation just because either they got kicked out of this building and they're just so miserable in life. I can't imagine someone having a bad experience here at this building.We have been living here for over 4 years, and we can't be happier! We love the area and the layout of our apartment. If a problem ever arises, Griselda and her staff are great at solving the issue quickly and professionally. The apartments are very good quality for the price you pay. my apartment is clean and I can truly tell you that I have NEVER seen a roach in my 4 years here, however if you are a dirty tenant, what do you expect?? I love my apartment! Griselda in the office has truly been a delight to work with. Great place to rent a Apartment.

It is like a very nice family here. All my neighbors are great. After living here little over a year, I feel at home and safe. I like the location and the property manager is a sweetheart, she has done a great job updating the building and in fixing any issues I bring up in a timely manner. I've come to think of her as a friend. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

I love my apartment! It is very nice and it has been kept up in great condition. The manager here...Griselda is an amazing person, very kind, helpful, and respectable. If you need anything done she's more than happy to assist you with it! I have had packages shipped to my apt. on several occasions. Due to being at work during the hours that the main office is open, Griselda and Robert have had my packages delivered straight to my apartment because I was unable to pick them up. I cannot express enough how happy I am with their service! Oh and my apartment is awesome! :) Thank you Griselda and Robert!!

Love it here at Gentry Manor Apartments! Great place to live. Respectful neighbors, safe location The grounds are well kept, the office manager Ms Sanchez is personable and friendly and she know everyone by their first name always very flexible and ready to work with you. The apartments are well kept and a lot have been remodeled. I highly recommend living here! I'm glad I moved here, and thus far my experience does not reflect what I've read in some of the comments.

This Apartment Property is well kept and is safe. It is 4 minutes to the Metra station, from where you can go straight to downtown Chicago. Close to the library, restaurants and expressways. The Maintenance Engineer reside on the property, so if any emergency comes up, it gets done right away. The Property Manager is friendly, but, firm with any who does not follow the rules. Overall, for the price, for the location, and for the amenities, this is an excellent place to live.

I have lived here for 8 years. The staff does their best to fix any of my problems. I like it here because it is close to downtown Glen Ellyn and I can walk almost anywhere - movies, library, Metra station. They are constantly maintaining the property and they pay special attention to people who need assistance. Thank you!

This is one of the worst places to live it infested with Roach's and Bed bugs I was over some house that live there and a roach ran out so sick and I felt bad they me did I want something to eat or drink and I say no and that should consider moving when the weather get better out side.Everything in the apartment is cheap and fall apart.

Heavily researched for apartments in 5 different towns/cities. For the money, we are getting a great place to live. I plan to renew my lease. We are living in a one bedroom. I feel safe, the grounds are well kept, the staff is friendly and helpful.. Maintenance has an over-all quick response time and they do not treat you like an inconvenience like some other places. I live in the newer units. I very much recommend living here. Clean, safe, and more than enough space. Plus it's within walking distance to train station, bank, postal office and downtown Glen Ellyn.
