Property Ratings at 3753 Artesia Blvd
The design of the complex is not good & the property management company is not great. It's NOT smoke free, & you have internet access as long as you pay for it. First, the complex is U-shaped with the living room of every apartment facing each other. As a result, you can't open your window or keep your front door open without hearing everyone's conversations, televisions blaring loudly, children playing, etc. This sucks because when the weather is hot the choice to open your windows and doors is dependent upon whether or not you want to deal with all the noise. Even in the early morning and sometimes late at night you can hear the sounds from a television with such detail that you can decipher words. When you step outside of your unit, the sounds are so loud that you kind of feel like you're attending a concert or at a movie theater. Second, the staircases are attached to the apartment walls. As a result, anytime someone goes up or down the stairs, whether he/she is running or walking, not only do the units attached shake like a tremor in an earthquake, but the thudding of the person's feet can be heard. The shaking and the noise can be even worse if there are children running up or down the stairs, or if a tenant has lots of guests coming and going. Third, all the units are equipped with a metal security door that basically functions as a screen door. And for whatever reason, some tenants constantly slam the security door closed rather than pulling it closed. Fourth, the laundry room is attached to a unit on the ground floor. Because there are no time limits as to when the laundry can be used, there are many, many times when all you hear is the washer and dryer in operation at all hours of the day and night. Fifth, the management company doesn't keep up the complex well. You can always find random pieces of trash in various places throughout the complex. Basically, unless the management co. is prepping an apartment to rent, you won't ever see any maintenance people cleaning up the common areas. When you need something fixed or cleaned up there is a contact number tenants are to call. Unfortunately, you have to keep calling and calling and calling, before a maintenance person is sent over to take care of the problem. Also, various tenants keep obtrusive items like dirty shoes, flower pots, kitchen brooms, etc. in front of their units, which gives off a junky appearance.
I love my apartment but the neighbors can be a small issue at times. I moved in my one bedroom when I was single and baby-less, so now that I have my partner and 4month old here, we definetly need a bigger space! But i have no big complains about my apartment. I guess the only thing I didn't like is that I am not a big fan of curry or any Indian food, and I have two neighbors that love to cook from their native hometown, India. The spices can get a bit ovewhelming. Other than that, my place is quiet and us neighbors look out for each other.
