When you move to an apartment in Prospect Hill, you'll be sharing the neighborhood with some of Omaha's founding pioneers -- literally. The neighborhood is named for its most prominent feature, the historic Prospect Hill Cemetery. With the first official burial taking place in 1854, this is the city's first cemetery, and many of the city's earliest and most prominent residents are buried here. Several military personnel are also buried here -- dating all the way back to the War of 1812.
Prospect Hill is one of Omaha's oldest neighborhoods. In addition to the pioneer cemetery, the city features several historic buildings, many dating back to the city's founding. The neighborhood extends from Lake Street south to Hamilton Street, and from roughly John A. Creighton Boulevard east to North 30th Street. Located about three miles northeast of Downtown Omaha, Prospect Hill is convenient to Creighton University, Mutual of Omaha, Turner Park, TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, and the Old Market.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
