With its brick-paved streets, ancient oak trees laced with moss, palm trees, and growing arts scene, Tampa Heights is one of Tampa's most-loved neighborhoods -- it is also one of its oldest. Residents seeking a little distance from downtown (less than a mile) settled Tampa Heights in the early 1800s. They could easily reach the city center on foot, making Tampa Heights the ideal first "suburb." Today, Tampa Heights is a National Historic District with an annual Tour of Homes.
