About This Property
Simply put, this is one of the nicest historic homes in Orange County -- in fact in 2019 it won the top award for restoration excellence from the Old Towne Preservation Association. Although this home has been lovingly restored with the latest and greatest conveniences (forced air/heat, tankless water heater, stainless steel dishwasher, etc) it was built before cars were popular. This means, unfortunately there is no garage but ample street parking in front of the house, the side and rear of the home. If garage storage is your need, we have you covered: literally. There's a basement AND large Tuff Shed. Our 1,500+ hours work restoring this historic cottage (and others) has been featured online and in numerous local and national newspapers and periodicals. Or, you can see additional pictures of our homes on Face book or Insta at HistoricHomeRow. No detail or amenity has been overlooked and includes the following: *10 foot, coved plaster ceilings *Beautifully landscaped front, side and back yards *Air conditioning *Energy efficient retro refrigerator (cost $5000) *Completely restored, period correct stove *Private, in-unit washer and dryer *Amazing custom tilework throughout *Restored original hardwood floors throughout *Period specific light fixtures and switches *Custom Hunter Douglas window coverings *Restored original doors and baseboards *Stained glass windows *Under cabinet lighting *Dishwasher *Beautiful bay window that overlooks numerous million dollar plus properties in Old Towne No smoking/no pets. Deposit is $4,300 and we know that sounds expensive -- but this cottage is 100 percent custom and as an example, just one light fixture cost $1,500. And guess what -- if you don't do any damage, you'll get your deposit back!

Orange combines historic architecture with contemporary living in the heart of Orange County. The city centers around Old Towne District, the largest National Register District in California, where the Orange Circle serves as a central gathering place for dining, shopping, and community events. Chapman University enhances the local atmosphere, while Santiago Creek Trail and numerous parks offer outdoor recreation opportunities. The rental market includes both historic properties and contemporary communities, with current average rents ranging from $2,352 for studios to $3,563 for three-bedroom units, showing modest year-over-year increases between 1.7% and 3.2%.
Orange stands out for its plaza-centered design and preservation of historic buildings, featuring California's second-largest concentration of preserved architecture.
