Designed by architect Jens J. Jensen in 1925, this unit in the Park Castle is a rare, vintage gem. The Chicago Architecture Center describes its "extravagant indoor pool, reflecting the opulence of the era," and says of the Park Castle, it "remains one of Chicago's best-kept secrets." Inside the apartment has four living room windows facing Indian Boundary Park. There are also hardwood floors. Built-in bookshelves line one entire wall of the living room. There are antique lighting fixtures and a built-in linen closet. There is a full separate dining room. The two bedrooms are carpeted and both have large closets with mirrored sliding glass doors. The bathroom has some of its original fixtures, including china handles in the shower and 1920s tile floor. The kitchen has a gas stove as well as other modern appliances, including a new dishwasher. Rental includes hot water and radiator heat. Tenants have use of large flat screen TV and stereo during their tenancy. A dedicated, private, off-street parking space is included. It's available now. Lease term (6-18 months) flexible. A 10-15 minute walk brings you to the Rogers Park METRA station with fast rail service either to the Loop or to Evanston. Buses along Western Avenue can you take you to the Brown Line, EL. Drive 15 minutes out Touhy for easy access to I-94. There's a new Chicago Public Library branch being built 3 blocks away at the corner of Pratt and Western. Tenant pays monthly gas and electricity. Tenant is also expected to put down a one-month security deposit, fully refundable at the end of the tenancy with interest. Cats are okay, but dogs are fordidden by the condo association.
