Honestly, the stay away. Not worth it. Yes it’s a decent apartment but it has horrible management. Manager is very sweet during the walk through but then once you move in she’s a nightmare. She’s rude and disrespectful. Unless you are extremely quiet (practically dead) then you can live here. The property manager has moved here and prides her self on the insane amount of rules. This is not a place for families. Kids aren’t allowed to have fun. There’s a pool, kids obviously laugh and play, they are not allowed to do so. It sad but true. Be careful when you sign the lease, the noise level is “deemed by the manager” so regardless if you think you are noise is minimal, guess what she won’t think so.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate the feedback. With Copa Pacific being a 150-unit, family-friendly, dog-friendly, open-air property, we really strive to create a serene environment for our residents to call home. To achieve that, there must be rules to follow and some noise rules enforced as voices carry so easily throughout this property. Obviously, this type of environment doesn't resonate with everyone, however I can proudly say that in 20 years of managing this property, the vast majority of residents appreciate the serenity that Copa Pacific offers. We have loved living here the past 7 yrs. Its quiet and the apts are spacious. The building is always clean and with so many dogs living here that is a mighty task. The laundry room is always clean and never crowded. A lot of closet space and the patios are very large. There are very few places that give you so much space, welcome animals, and are affordable. Glad the regular managers are back. Sure it was a hassle during all the updates but totally worth it . The pool , jacuzzi and gym are awesome also and now solar ! It's better than landlords that don't keep their properties nice . Right ! We are lucky enough to buy a house or we would be staying !
My family and I have been living in the complex for about a year and half now and boy do we miss the old apt manager from when we first moved in. Don’t get me wrong the complex itself is nice, the location is great, and we love that it’s pet friendly which is why I gave the place 2 stars. But if I was to rate this place just on management I’d give it 1 star. When the management switched there was no notification of the switch which happened around maybe 7 months ago when they were repiping the whole complex. We had a knock on our door around 8 or 9 AM from the plumbers/construction workers informing us that they were ready to work and needed to show us where they’d be working. Confused by the whole thing that is when my husband and I found out that they’d be coming into our unit to work in the kitchen, both bathrooms, the hallway, our kids’ closet and our closet. We were given a notice of when the repiping of the complex would start taking place and the times that we would have to move our cars out of the garage but we were never given a notice that anyone would be entering our unit and that the construction in our unit from beginning to end would take about 2-3 weeks. Besides that whole ordeal it seems as though our kids can’t even stand around outside without the manager asking them what they’re doing. My kids were standing around the corner of our door waiting on me to finish putting on my shoes so I could take them to school. They were there for maybe 2 min and that’s when I heard “what are you doing?”. They had their backpacks on and their lunch bags. What do you think they’re doing? And that’s not the only time something like that has happened. My husband and I have noticed that more families have moved out within the past 7 months than the first year of us living here.
There are much better options next door on ALL sides of this complex. The ownership is extremely rude: 1) Hiring construction workers who curse all day long with kids around. We have consulted our lawyers because with barely 24 hour notice, we were notified that they are putting new pipes in which is fine. My wife who was home at the time with our young son complained to me of profanity and strangers/construction workers entering without knocking even after they said they were done. Multiple holes and garbage were left in our apartment and OUR VACUUM WAS USED WITHOUT PERMISSION TO CLEAN UP WOOD CHIPS FROM THE CONSTRUCTION. What do you know, it no longer works despite being new. 2) Giving NO notification of inspection of apartment. One Saturday morning the manager popped in unexpectedly to make sure our unit was clean. This was soon after construction and She complained about our son storing a ball in our patio and was VERY RUDE AND NIT-PICKY about little things. 3) They claim to have a pool for all to enjoy, dont plan on bringing guests (without harassment), dont plan on your kids jumping (feet first) without harassment, dont plan on using the bbqs they have by the pool without being harassed by a creepy/rude guy who isnt even the manager (manager assistant?). I have never written anything like this but the lack of respect for tenants, the entering without notification, the companies that are hired, the lack of care when these issues were brought up respectfully, it is not worth the ever increasing price. If you are looking for a one year stay, you can manage here, but EVERYTHING surrounding this place is cheaper and in some cases roomier. Why put yourself through the stress of poor management and the lack of security that comes with it?

I'm a 10-year resident of Copa Pacic! Why? Because the current on-site management team is responsive and cares about the residents--they are ethical and fair-minded! The property is secure, clean, and offers, parking, and a clean laundry facility with washers & dryers that are clean and functioning. They allow pets, too. Few places allow pets because pet-owners can be irresponsible and property owners do not want to deal with that. Copa Pacific allows pets, so this is another plus. The current management team is back again (after an approximate 17-month absence), and for this I am grateful, as they are experienced and highly competent. They respond to residents' concerns promptly and fairly.
Lived downstairs from a selfish, neglectful dog owner, who allowed her 85 pound dog to whine, howl and pound against its confinement for hours every day. She would allow the dog to gallop all over her apartment late every night, when she would finally get home and let it out. Upstairs floor was not carpeted, and impact on our ceiling was incredibly loud. Woke us up nightly. Tenant would also stomp around late into the night, bang on her walls and drop heavy items deliberately, because the ex manager had told her that we had complained. Corporate Management team at main office tried to ignore our mountain of evidence and documentation regarding the situation, but we were persistent, and thankfully, we did manage to get out of there. Several neighbors had informed us that the dog howling situation was known to management, from before we ever moved in, but management still tried to gaslight us and ignore our complaints for several months. Not cool. We are so grateful to be out of there, and we are paying less rent at our new place.

Good management, quiet, buildings could use some updates
I searched for apartments for 2 months, and Copa Pacific was the best apartment I found in the South Bay for the price. My one-bedroom unit is open and spacious, surrounded by trees and very private but still light and bright. The complex feels more like a cute little resort than a typical apartment complex… there are a lot of trees and flowers and foliage, and the landscaping and pools are well maintained. The onsite manager is friendly and helpful, and the complex is very quiet and peaceful… shockingly quiet with how many dogs live here. The location is perfect… there is a great park just down the street to walk your dog or take your kids, and the beach is just a 7 minute drive away. Chicken Maison is right across the street (BEST. KABOBS. EVER.) and the Del Amo Fashion Center and Rolling Hills plaza are both just 5 minutes away, so lots of dining/entertainment/shopping options nearby. The building is wired for Verizon Fios so made it easy to hook up cable and internet. I noticed another reviewer said there isn’t a lot of hot water during peak-shower-times, but each unit has its own hot water tank, so I’m not sure what they’re talking about... I take long showers and have never run out of hot water. I highly recommend this place for people who are looking for a quiet, pet-friendly, peaceful environment. One little tip if you're trying to contact the manager Theresa to view the unit, I recommend calling and then following up with an e-mail telling her about yourself... I know she gets really busy and seems like she doesn't have time to return all the calls she gets. When I didn't hear back from her after a couple voicemail messages, I sent her an e-mail with information about myself and she got back to me right away.
Location is great if you like the beach life. Pets are welcome and everyone has at least 2. Great that pets are allowed but for shy or stressed pets this could be a little much due to the amount of other animals there. But it is still the best place for them as all apartments have decent siize outdoor area for them.
Apartments are clean, spacious and have a good layout. The grounds are kept clean and nice. Pool and Jacuzzi always clean. The Gym is small and has old equipment, but you can still get your work out done. Is a smoking free community which I love and they are pet friendly which is also a mayor plus. My only complain is the change of water temperature in the shower, if you happen to take your shower when most of the people does, then be ready to be surprise while showering. That can be pretty annoying, but you can live with it. In general is a good place to live.
I have just moved into an apartment at Copa Pacific in Torrance and I have been very happy with the service and the enviornment. The onsite property manager is very friendly and willing to assist. I am so glad that I found an apartment that aloows pets as I have a show cat and he is like my child so not an option to not live with him. I would recommend the Copa Pacific.
