About This Property

Beautiful 2 BR, 1 Bath for rent in large 2-story hillside home in Silver Lake (each floor is its own separate/private unit). The 1,100 sqft upstairs unit has an open floor plan with a unique lofted lounging area in the living room (this is not one of the bedrooms, but could be used as a bed). 2 bedrooms on opposite sides of the unit and a bathroom with dual sinks. The unit includes AC and heat, shared (free) laundry room and firepit/patio/garden area outside, which is fully enclosed behind locked gate access. Well-behaved pets considered. The house is in Silver Lake, where the I-5 and SR-2 meet, offering easy access to many points in the city. Want to go to a Dodger's game, see the Hollywood star walk, visit Universal Studios or check out the nightlife in downtown LA? The property neighbors a lot of LA hotspots for shopping, dining, entertainment & nightlife, including Frogtown, Atwater Village, Glendale, Sunset Junction, Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Hollywood, and downtown LA. There's a bus stop steps away from the front gate and it's a 10-minute walk to groceries, restaurants, banks, library, bar, dog park, and plenty of outdoor recreation (Silver Lake reservoir, LA River bike path, Griffith and Elysian parks). Full disclosure about some quirks: *Stair-only access from the street (not fit for physically impaired). *Since the house is close to the freeway, there is street noise outside; the windows/insulation significantly reduces noise while indoors though. *PARKING: There is permit street parking directly in front of the house for $15/ year. The permit is only needed for overnight parking (it is safe/free to park there during the day). However, there's been some vandalism in the past to cars parked there overnight, so I'd recommend the short walk to park on side streets overnight, which are free and safer. You are welcome to install surveillance cameras as a deterrent if you'd like to go that route. There is also a garage available to rent for $100/mo on the street level if you have a smaller vehicle (I used to park a Prius in there, see pic for size reference). There is electricity running to the garage, so an EV plug could potentially be installed (at tenant's expense). $3,300/month + bills are split equally among the number of people living in the house. $3,500 refundable deposit. Move-in Requirements: $35 online application for credit/background, 3 references (work, personal & former someone you've paid rent to), proof of income (pay stubs or bank statements), copy of ID, 1st month rent & deposit (total of $6,800 or $6,900 with garage), and signed 1-year lease. Thanks, and happy hunting!
