Avenida Guadalupe begins along I-35 and extends westward to South Zarzamora Street. It is adjacent to Historic Market Square and within walking distance of Downtown San Antonio and the San Antonio River Walk.

Known as a hub for the arts, it is home to the San Anto Cultural Arts Center, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Education organization, the Guadalupe Theater, and the Guadalupe Dance Company. The Apache Creek and Trail pass through the center of Avenida Guadalupe, and several parks provide additional outdoor space. The picturesque Cassiano Park includes a swimming pool and a trailhead for hikers.
