About This Home

12 Month Lease, $2,400 deposit, Available Aug 1

We are a small family renting our bright, just-renovated apartment (1-3 BR, 1 Bath) in the middle of Old Wethersfield, Connecticut's largest historic district close to Hartford. The rental is for the summer/fall 2026 through the summer of 2027, August 1 2026 through July 30 2027 (dates & rent negotiable, extension into 2027 possible). The house is older than the USA. It sits adjacent to the famous Broad Street Green, in Wethersfield's most beautiful neighborhood, a few steps past the ancient cemetery to restaurants, bars, and (in our opinion) CT's best coffee shop. Our 3rd-floor walk-up apartment was just carefully renovated with new appliances and smart-thermostat heating, while maintaining the expansive wooden flooring and historic doorways. The 1500-sq-foot apartment has: -A generous bedroom with a queen-sized bed, double exposures, chaise longue, and electric piano -An eat-in kitchen with a pantry, dishwasher, gas stove with griddle, disposal -A living-dining room -A writer's office with a wall-to-wall bookshelf and decorative fireplace (which could be a 2nd bedroom) -A library-and-TV room in deep red (which could be a 3rd bedroom) -A bathroom with a generous claw-foot tub -Ample closet space, not pictured, including 4 closets throughout the apartment, plus 1 larger walk-in closet -A laundry room with washer, dryer, shelves, and an installed writer's 'office nook' (not pictured) -A long, sunny balcony overlooking the house's gardened yard (with a grill for your use) and looking onto the Broad St Green -A carport and long driveway, with space for two household cars (one in the carport and one on the driveway) We would hope to rent to an individual, couple, or family interested in enjoying this peaceful & historic place while we're away. That also means enjoying one of CT's great communities, including the walkable village downtown with a historic church, historic synagogue, excellent bars and restaurants, ice cream AND gelato, and *great* coffee--including a place to bring your laptop--a few minutes by foot. Terms: While the apartment is furnished, we would negotiate removing furnishings according to your preference. No-pets preferred, but a small pet may be allowed in some cases. No smoking. Though you wouldn't have use of a car, you do have plenty of space to park. Preference may given to tenants with references who are clean, quiet, and as respectful of our neighbors as our neighbors have been of us. Please contact us with questions.
