Moved here 26 years ago primarily for the schools because we had our first child. This home sits in one of the most sought after academic zones in the West Valley, offering outstanding public schools at every level: Woodland Hills Pre School – trusted early childhood program, Woodlake Elementary School – strong academics and community involvement, Hale Charter Middle School – excellent programs and student support, El Camino Real Charter High School – nationally recognized, award winning Academic Decathlon and baseball powerhouse. Families move to this neighborhood specifically for this school pathway — it’s one of the strongest in Los Angeles. El Camino starts Aug 10, Hale starts Aug 12, Woodlake starts Aug 14. Sorry for the short notice, but, took us longer to move out 26 years of memories than we thought. Incredible Youth Sports Community. Woodland Hills is known for its vibrant youth sports scene, offering organized leagues for: Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Football, Basketball. Whether your children are beginners or competitive athletes, the area offers high quality coaching, safe facilities, and a true community atmosphere. No pool so you don’t have liability of watching your friends’ children – but, Woodland Hills Recreation Center with pool, lessons, and swim teams is 2 blocks away. Our son’s grandfather went swimming with him 6 hours a day in the summer from 10-1, lunch and nap from 1-3, swim again from 3-6. Son made the LA Aquatic OIympics and even the AAU Jr Olympics in track and field with the West Valley Eagles. Don’t worry if you don’t have children. We moved here because of our son, but soon realized the unique location of the house with street parking always available for free without limitations right in front of the house. So, I closed my office in Westwood and worked out of our house. Clients loved it. Close to the 101 and convenient parking 30 feet from the front door. Although not part of the lease, we will leave you fridge, freezer, washer and dryer. If you don’t need them, or don’t want them, we’ll take them out. Pets are allowed. We’ve always had Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, and a California Desert Tortoise. No pet fee. You’ll just need to have the carpet cleaned when you move out to get your full deposit back. And, when you’re ready to pray and give thanks to the Lord, there are 9 churches, 9 synagogues, and 4 mosques within easy walking distance, and 3 temples within a 10 minute drive. Woodland Hills sits at the southwestern edge of the San Fernando Valley, where the Santa Monica Mountains form a natural backdrop and 120,000 trees planted in the 1920s still shade the streets today. The neighborhood is part of the City of Los Angeles, yet it carries a quieter, more spread-out character than most of the city. Warner Center serves as the commercial and employment core, drawing businesses, retail, and dining to the heart of the community. Pierce College, with its 426-acre campus and working farm, adds an educational anchor that shapes the area's rhythm throughout the year.
The housing mix leans toward garden-style apartment communities, low-rise buildings, and single-family rentals, with options concentrated near Ventura Boulevard and Warner Center. Renters who want more space or a hillside setting can find that here, often at a premium compared to neighboring areas like Canoga Park or Tarzana.
