If you’re looking for a quiet area that is still near some of Birmingham’s best options for dining, shopping, and entertainment, Evergreen is a great choice. The neighborhood is about two miles north of Downtown Birmingham and just over a mile from the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex, a sprawling entertainment hub that houses concert halls, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, and Birmingham Children's Theatre. Attracting even more renters, Evergreen is also four miles away from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Birmingham-Southern College. Residents have access to Interstate 65 and Route 31, so they can travel into downtown and beyond with ease. Evergreen has a low cost of living and has apartments available for rent at various price points. Evergreen is predominately residential but there are a few restaurants and shops nearby for residents to enjoy.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
