About This Property

Hello! I am renting one room in a big 2-bedroom home above a gated business in Willow Glen and I am looking for one person of any gender who would like to move in during the beginning of January. You can view full the property at the end of December when the current temporary tenant moves out. The permanent tenant is a kind person who takes good care of things. She may allow you see her room and the common areas sooner than that. You will be renting the room for $1000 a month with a $300 deposit. You may sign the lease after a month if you are a good fit for the apartment and the current tenant. WiFi, gas, water and electricity are included with your monthly rent. Credit report and proof of income or will be requested before moving in. This apartment is up one story and does not have an elevator. Moving large pre-assembled furniture is not advised. ---Your room--- Your room is 7.8 ft high, 14.75 ft long, and 11.6 ft wide, so 171 square feet total in addition to a large mirrored closet that is as wide as the room. There is a built-in floor heater in there and in every other room. You can decorate your room with whatever safe non-permanent things you like. ---The rest of the place--- The living room is also large and has an old-fashioned wood stove (decorative at this point), entertainment area, sofa and some lounge chairs. The kitchen has lots of cabinets, a fridge and freezer, a microwave, oven with a classic electric stove top, a sink with a garbage disposal, and a table with chairs. There is a pantry for extra food and linens and an entryway closet for other supplies. There is a small clothes washer and dryer in the apartment which is good for light loads of laundry. There is one bathroom with a shower-tub with a detachable showerhead. It is off of a little hall with the laundry and pantry next to your room which you can shut for privacy. There is a wooden balcony that the other tenant converted into a garden with seats. ---Parking and transportation--- You have a dedicated outdoor parking space. The apartment is near Highway 87 and is a two-minute walk from the Curtner Light Rail Station and bus stops. It is a brief drive from the Tamien Train Station where you can catch the Caltrain or take public transportation to Diridon Station where you have even more transit options. There are restaurants and shopping centers nearby and of course more via public transportation. ---Rules and expectations--- Occasional visitors are allowed during the day. Nighttime visits after the business is closed are discouraged but may be allowed for highly trusted guests. Overnight visits are not allowed. Large or loud parties are not permitted. This is very much a "morning person" home. Due to the nature of living at a business, there may be noise disturbances from trucks, customers, and occasionally security. You can play games, listen to music, vacuum, wash clothes, watch TV, cook, and do pretty much anything else as long as you are being mindful. Since you are close to the highway you can hear traffic, but it's not too loud especially compared to the noise in a standard apartment complex or a bustling neighborhood.. The apartment is expected to be kept neat and in good order with a focus on sanitation and safety. Outdoor shoes may not be worn inside the apartment beyond the entryway. You can have a small, quiet, non-aquatic pet that stays in a cage or habitat and doesn't eat live food. Due to the nature of the business other pets and animals are not allowed. Smoking and vaping of any sort are not allowed anywhere within the facility. Good judgment and mature behavior are key here. I hope you now have a good idea if this is the right home for you.
