About This Home
Welcome to Grand Laurel Oak Estate, Gainesville’s premiere private retreat blending historic elegance with modern luxury. This 5-bedroom, 5.5-bath home invites your group to live in comfort and style. Feel at home whether you’re in town for a family reunion, University of Florida graduation, or a corporate off-site. The large living spaces mean your group can spread out. There are two distinct living rooms, perfect for game nights, quiet reading, or catching up by the fireplace. A gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances awaits your chefs, and a grand dining room sets the stage for special meals together. Each of the 5 bedrooms is a private suite featuring its own full bathroom, premium linens, and a fireplace in five of the suites. Start your morning on one of the two wraparound porches, sipping coffee on a cozy swing as the neighborhood wakes up. In the evening, step out back to the expansive patio draped in twinkling party lights, an enchanting setting for dinners or celebrations. With seating for everyone under the stars, you can grill out, share stories, and make memories. Leave the cars in the free parking area and explore downtown Gainesville on foot; restaurants, cafes, and shops are just a few blocks away. The University of Florida and stadium are a 5-minute drive, making game days or campus visits a breeze. Despite being in the heart of town, the estate sits on a lush, fenced property, offering peace and privacy behind its oak-shaded gardens. Before you arrive, you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. [SI]

Every day in Downtown Gainesville is a party -- partly because of the great weather and fantastic pubs -- but also because it is next to the University of Florida. The downtown area invites residents and visitors to get out and walk or bike, with wide sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, and even "fun bikes" -- bikes that seat 17 people around a bar, so it looks more like a party bus with a lot of pedals. Downtown Gainesville hosts a variety of walking tours, pub crawls, and restaurant tours.
Of course, every party needs music, and Downtown Gainesville offers plenty of that, as well. A variety of nightclubs include outdoor stages for local bands, and Bo Diddly Plaza offers everything from blue grass to jazz to R&B. Watch a show at the legendary Hippodrome Theatre or see a concert at the Florida Theatre. Downtown Gainesville hosts a variety of festivals and events, from the farmer's market held in Bo Diddly Plaza to the Downtown Festival & Art Show.
