The aptly-named Biltmore Forest is a wooded oasis on the east side of the Biltmore. After a flood in 1916 caused damage to part of the Biltmore Estate, the trustees of the George Vanderbilt Estate decided to sell of roughly 1,500 acres of the impacted lands along Hendersonville Road. Around 1920, the land was developed, and Biltmore Forest was officially chartered as a town in 1923. Today, this picturesque town is home to roughly 1,400 people.
If your dream is to live at Biltmore, you can't get much closer than Biltmore Forest -- the reception and ticket center is located on the north end of Biltmore Forest, with the house just a few minutes away. Biltmore Forest is home to the large Biltmore Forest Country Club, which sits in the center of the neighborhood. The town also provides two parks. Rosebank Park and Greenwood Park both offer wooded settings with playgrounds, benches, and open play areas.
