Renting a newly remodeled apartment in a beautiful historic home. This quintessential Queen Anne home exudes romantic charm. The house is on a gorgeous street in the highly sought after Hanscom Park/Field Club area! The wraparound covered porch is peaceful within the secluded lot, surrounded by landscaped front and back yards. Residents will enter through a lobby with handsome original solid wood double doors and stained glass to their private apartment entrance on the second level. The apartment comes with one garage parking spot, and plenty of street parking- usually right in front of the house. Each room has authentic woodworking from stunning hand carved balusters to original, thick trim around doors and windows, with original antique 1890's door knobs, etc. Tons of natural throughout. Hanscom Park is a neighborhood of firsts -- it contains Omaha's first city park (also Hanscom Park), it is considered Omaha's first suburb, and it features some of the city's major landmarks -- including the birthplace of President Gerald Ford. Hanscom Park dates back to 1854, when Colonel Sam Bayliss moved to the area. In 1872, Andrew J. Hanscom -- who had purchased land from Bayliss -- donated the land for the park. The area quickly became a suburb when an electric trolley connected the area with Downtown Omaha.
Located just two miles from downtown, Hanscom Park is a popular neighborhood, featuring many historic mansions converted into apartment buildings. With I-80 and I-480 nearby, travel to Omaha's major landmarks and businesses is easy. Hanscom Park is bordered by the Omaha VA Medical Center to the north and Metropolitan Community College-South Omaha to the south. Nearby attractions include the Old Market (to the northeast) and the Henry Doorly Zoo (to the southeast).
