About This Property
We’ve loved living in this three-bedroom, one-bath house, but an unexpected job change means we have to move, and we’re looking to pass our 2022-2023 lease on to new tenants. The start date is somewhat flexible: right now it’s 8/15, but if you wanted to start renting from 8/1, or 9/1, or another date, we are happy to discuss. (And we will cover the first month's rent for you, whatever your preferred start date.) The house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It’s an eleven-minute walk to campus through Sunset Park and PSU's Arboretum, or along the sidewalks of East College Heights. It’s a short walk to grocery stores, CVS, many restaurants, a cat vet, gas stations, bus lines, and other shops. And to some really beautiful bike trails. Outside, there's a large deck and the opportunity to put in your own garden; the yard is about a quarter of an acre. Last summer we grew hot peppers and milkweed, and had monarchs; we enjoyed many evenings watching fireflies on the deck. There’s also a grill, a fire pit and a firewood storage shed. There is a one-car carport plus additional driveway parking and lots of restriction-free, on-street parking. Inside, there’s a large kitchen with all full-sized appliances: fairly new stove, fridge, brand-new dishwasher, microwave, disposal, and a wealth of shelf space. The laundry area has a washer and dryer, both full-sized, with direct access to the backyard deck. The dining room has sliding doors that face the morning sun. It's open to the living room, which is large, with a wooden beam ceiling, a fully functional stone fireplace, and a large window that gets afternoon sun. The bathroom has a full tub/shower. There is a coat closet in the living room and a separate linen storage closet in the bathroom. Each of the three bedrooms has roomy closet space and one has a built-in desk. -The owner pays the trash, recycling, water, and sewer bills. -The tenants pay for their electricity, internet, and gas heat (forced air; the windows are new and efficient). -The lease is for a one-year term, mid-August to mid-August with the potential for annual renewals. If you wanted to start renting from 8/1, or 9/1, or to suggest another date, we are happy to discuss that. And as said elsewhere, we are up for paying the first month's rent ourselves. -Rent is $1700/month. -It’s a no-smoking home. -The house is ideal for PSU Law students, PSU grad students, new professors/professionals, and young families who want their own private space. -A pet may be negotiable; we had our cat here, but the owner would like to consider pets on a case-by-case basis. -About the photos: there are only two of us and we use just one bedroom, so we’ve basically used the other two bedrooms for storage space this past year. Most of the photos are current, but it’s March and 30 degrees out right now, so we included two photos from a previous summer so you can see how green it gets.
