About This Home
The fully furnished apartment is a recently renovated space in my lower level with lots of natural light and with a separate entrance through the driveway gate at the rear of the house in a quiet residential northside Ann Arbor neighborhood. Parking is available in the driveway either inside the gate or at top of driveway, or on the opposite side of the street. When I am traveling, I will likely be storing my car back near the shed in the backyard. My car may be available for your use if needed. As you enter the space, there is a shared laundry/mud room (shared with me!) with washer, dryer, wash basin, drying rack, some backyard and water sport toys, vacuum, broom, iron and ironing board, and a bench to sit down and take off your shoes with ease. The laundry/mud room square footage is not included in the 600 square feet listed. You then enter the apartment through a locked french door off the laundry. There is a family room with queen size futon and TV, and desk/workout area. The large bedroom has a queen size bed, desk, and closet. The full kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster/airfryer, oven and coffee maker, blender, dishes, glasses, silverware, pots/pans, other cooking and baking amenities, and a table that extends larger for guests and chairs. The large bathroom has a shower and heated floors. There is also storage space in the utility room (the square footage of the utility room/storage space is not included in the the 600 square feet listed. I have been renting out the apartment through Airbnb since 2019 and am now looking for a longer term tenant because I plan to be gone for a month or two at a time and cannot manage an AirBnb (I live upstairs when I am around). I have a sweet dog that does not go into the apartment, and she will ideally be with me during my travels. If not, she will be with a dog-sitter upstairs and in the backyard. If you are not a dog person, then my place may not be for you, unless I know for sure she will be traveling with me all the time (I will know by end of April 2026). If you are a dog person, please let me know because if she is not traveling with me, I will need to arrange a dog sitter for her upstairs. The backyard is fenced in with a patio area, table and chairs, gas BBQ grill, fire pit and a woodshed with plenty of dry wood for bonfires. There is a garden area if you want to have a vegetable garden (garden tools in the shed) and there are blueberry and strawberry patch areas already established. The small backyard will need to be mowed in the summer. Also, in the winter there will be shoveling the sidewalk, walkway to front door and porch, and the entryway to the apartment in the back. I will need you to take the recycling, trash, and compost carts to the street for collection each week. I do not have a separate electric, gas, or water meter for the apartment, so I will keep utilities in my name, and pay for them up to a reasonable amount that is included in your monthly rental fee. I also have Xfinity Internet/Wifi that I will keep in my name and pay for it, and give you my WiFi password. You can sign into your NetFlix, Hulu, or Prime accounts from the TV. If you prefer to pay for utilities and your own internet, then we can discuss. This is an amazing neighborhood. One block from STEAM K-8 school, ½ block from Project Grow community garden, one block from public bus line downtown or to Plymouth Road, two blocks from bus line to University of Michigan north campus, 25-30 minute walk downtown, 10-minute walk to Black Ponds Woods, Huron River /Argo Pond boardwalk and trails, Lower Town café, and the Cascades where one can raft or kayak down! University of Michigan Hospital (“Michigan Medicine”) is a 5 minute drive, or a 10-minute walk to the bus stop.
