Abutting the woods to the north and surrounded by wide open spaces to the south, Great Bridge East calls renters seeking a quiet, wooded retreat. With farmland, equestrian centers, great schools, and peaceful subdivisions, Great Bridge East blends suburban and rural living. When residents aren’t at a u-pick farm or local park, you’ll find them at one of the many natural areas nearby. Great East Bridge is 40 minutes away from Sandbridge Beach and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Great Bridge East feels secluded and spread out, but there is a small commercial hub directly west of the neighborhood with several department stores, grocers, and chain restaurants. The neighborhood is also about 20 minutes to Greenbiere Mall. For a little more entertainment, locals head north 10 miles to the downtown area for shopping, dining, or perusing at one of the Chesapeake Farmers' Markets.
