The building is Summerfield Court. This is a giant one bedroom plus den. Its perfect for one individual or a couple. We've lived here 5 years and are sad to leave the building, but our family is expanding so we bought a house. The den can be an office space, a nursery, or whatever you want. Leasing is for 10/01, and it's available NOW. The building is great - only 2 units per floor and you don't hear much of the neighbors. The building is close to Brady Street, Summerfest grounds, downtown, the freeway, grocery stores, the Hop (Streetcar) and more. Current rent special: 2 months for free if you sign a 1 year lease. This is essentially only paying $1000/mo for rent. Also - $250 off your first month of rent if you apply within 24 hours of your showing. Rent currently includes: Heat, water, basic cable and high speed Internet! Internet is free through January. Tenants pay for electricity. Our bill was usually $55 for 2 of us. Our apartment has: • Hardwood floors • Freshly painted (will be) • Natural woodwork throughout • Built-in China cabinets • Stove and refrigerator • Separate, formal dining room (No one has this on the east side. So cool!) • Mini-blinds • Large pantry area • Laundry facilities on site • Storage area on site • On-site resident manager • Secure, locked lobby with buzzed entry • A BALCONY facing the back yard •An additional private back door entrance. Professionally managed by New Land Enterprises (www.newlandmke.com) • The application process takes around 72 business hours. Background and credit check needed for all applicants and co-signers. • There is a non-refundable $25 fee, per applicant, to run credit and background checks and then a $200 earnest money deposit will be collected when applying. When your application is approved, the deposit will be a credit towards your security deposit. • A copy of your ID and proof of income (1 month of paystubs or W2) are also needed when applying. • Your monthly income must be 3 times the amount of the rent to be approved without a co-signer • To bring animals, there is a non-refundable pet fee of $300, plus a monthly cost depending on type of pets. Parking is not included with the building, but there are 3 lots in the surrounding areas. I used the Shoreline lot next door and paid $132/month for a spot. Otherwise, street parking isn't too bad. Open Houses for the building are on Thursdays from 4-8, Saturdays 10-2, and Sundays 12-2.
