About This Property
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Current Specials with early May Move-in date: Offering Special for First responders and essential Medical Service Personnel - $100 off $1295 rent, bringing it down to to $1195 through July 31 with 12 month lease that must start in early May (not required for travel nurses). If the Covid-19 crisis continues past August, I will continue the reduction as a thank you for your service. People should be rewarded for their service to our community and country. Mobile and Healthy Seniors will receive a $100 rent reduction with late April or early May move-in date to help with this crisis. This will make your rent $1195 for the first year. Sorry, no wheelchair access available. Sorry, we have a pool that will be filled in by the end of the year (covid -19 delayed our plans). It does not have the required fencing for children, so no applicants with children under 14 can be considered. This would include parents with regular visitations. -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Please note this is an attached inlaw, casita or studio apartment with a kitchenette, and private bathroom. It offers a private entrance and gated patio. Located on 5 1/2 acres of land, the beautiful, and healthy country setting of Serenity Oaks will make even a Shelter in Place order more enjoyable. Covid 19 precautions: We practice social distancing, and have freshly painted the studio. We also mop the floors with bleach water between each visit and sanitize all surfaces a visitor may have touched. INCLUDED: Rent includes free access to a laundry room (open 9 am to 9 pm) with high capacity, state of the art stacked washer and dryer (Please, No washing loads for non-residents). It also includes high speed Cox WiFi internet, all utilities except telephone, and over 400 channels of Dish TV with the sports package, (renter to provide TV). PARKING: Parking is off road, and there is room for a truck and trailer. 2 vehicle max. PETS: 1 to 2 small to medium, friendly pets allowed on approval for an additional pet deposit. Well behaved larger dogs are also allowed on approval as long as they will not harass our pygmy goats and will get along with our three small friendly dogs. Must also be able to tolerate my escape artist cat, who belongs indoors or with her sisters in their catio, but often has other ideas on the subject. Sorry, NO puppies please due to chewing and potty training considerations. LOCATION: Live close to the city, while still enjoying a country atmosphere of Serenity Oaks, a 5 1/2 acre nature-lover's paradise, nestled in a hidden valley, across from Blossom Valley at the Lake Jennings Park Road Exit off of HWY 8 in Eastern El Cajon. Features rapid access to downtown El Cajon, a 15 minute drive to Santee, Tierra Santa, or the College area, 22 min to Mission Valley, and 26 min to downtown San Diego (more during traffic hours). Public transportation (bus) is a mile + hike away with some of it uphill, with the trolley a 15 min drive way, so a car, bike ownership, or a love of long walks is a must. LOOKING FOR: a single, positive, mature, nonsmoking, clean, moderate, responsible and considerate individual, preferably 35 years or over, with a steady income who appreciates nature, and wants to live here long term (Exceptions in lease lengths made for travel nurses). Please, no drama queens or addicts (that includes alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc). NO heavy drugs of any sort. Mobile Seniors welcome. I am IHSS qualified if you wish to arrange for meals or light cleaning, but cannot do heavy work. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must be able to submit references and documentation that proves continuing ability to pay the rent at the time of the application. Although this sounds like a wonderful place to visit, which it is, I have an obligation to protect those already living on the property, and so will only show the studio those who are serious and able to rent in the near future. You would want me to have your best interests at heart if the roles were reversed. MUST Haves: A liking for animals and have NO pet allergies. We have cats and friendly dogs on the property, as well as a herd of pygmy goats with six babies. We love our wildlife, so if you think critters should be controlled with bullets or poison, this is NOT the place for you. We enjoy life, and celebrate the holidays, but this is not a party property. STUDIO DESCRIPTION: Your airy, sunlit 21.5' x 13.5' studio apartment offers a half vaulted ceiling, which makes the place feel very open and spacious. Double French doors and a large window flood the apartment with natural light, and are outfitted with Plantation shutters. A kitchenette features a granite countertop, and solid wood cabinetry. A designer ceiling fan and air conditioning unit keep the apartment cool in the summer, while the hidden valley almost always offers a lovely breeze. Travertine marble floors give the apartment an elegant feel, while a mirrored closet offers both long hang and double hang. Above it, a large storage area outfitted with stained glass doors allows you to hide your toys and treasures out of sight. The private bathroom features designer tile, a mirrored medicine cabinet, and glass enclosed shower (no tub). FURNISHINGS: The casita is furnished with a lovely wooden dresser, and clever, space saving furniture such as a solid oak murphy bed with a 6 month old antibacterial bamboo memory foam mattress in a freshly laundered mattress cover. This allows you to enjoy the entire living space during the day, with your bed tucked out of sight. A space saving solid wood dining table will seat 6 with the leaves folded out. GROUNDS AMENITIES: The grounds of Serenity Oaks include a large firepit, a BBQ area, and a lovely enclosed gazebo. A tile and cement picnic table allows you to enjoy meals in the shade of 100 year old oaks. A hot tub will be operational within the next 3 to 6 months, and will eventually be enclosed in another gazebo. Take invigorating private walks in the fresh air or hike half a mile to explore the nature preserve. Watch the sunrise on your private patio while enjoying your morning coffee, and listening to the water tumble by in our seasonal creek. THE MAGIC: You will love this place. Nestled in its little hidden valley, the studio feels warm and welcoming, and the land itself seems magical. With no city lights to extinguish them, the stars stud the night sky. The state's largest avocado orchard guards the back of the property, with its 300+ acres of trees ensuring that no one will ever build there. Fortunately, they only use natural control methods, so toxins are not sprayed nearby. I also keep my property natural and organic. WILDLIFE: The abundant wildlife includes wild turkeys, a fox, squirrels, rabbits, orioles, bluebirds, and many other lovely birds. We also have a herd of friendly pygmy goats who help us keep the weeds and brush under control. 4 just had babies a month ago. PRICE: All this can be yours for a very reasonable $1295 a month, first and last months rent, or, if you are a first responder, or work in an essential medical field, with a move in date in early May, you will pay the special price of $1195 a month through the end of July WITH a 12 month lease plus last months rent and any pet deposit due. Seniors will receive a $100 reduction for first year with a 12 month lease, with an early May move-in date, bringing it to down $1195 as well.
