Large 3 bed, 1 bath, 3rd (top) floor. Available July 1 (maybe Sunday June 29, current tenants are still planning their moveout). 1500 sq foot. Front room and separate dining room. Hardwood floors. Radiator heat and one large window AC included. Shared outdoor patio backyard. Coin laundry and bike storage in the basement. No smoking or dogs, cats OK. Owners live in the building, so we take good care of the building and screen our future neighbors rigorously. Rent is $2800, first month and security deposit (same) due at signing. The background check service charges $59 per adult and we’ll take it off the first month’s rent at lease signing. Optional garage parking spot, $150/month. At Glenwood and Carmen, a quiet intersection halfway between Andersonville and Asia on Argyle/Little Vietnam/Uptown. GMaps says 7 minute walk (0.4 miles) to the Argyle Red Line L stop, 13 minute walk (0.6 miles) to Jewel (less to Tai Nam and Park to Shop), and 18 minute walk (0.9 miles) to the Ravenswood Metra UP-N stop. Same distance to Lincoln Park. City playlot on the block, Bezazian library 8 minute walk, lots of restaurants and retail nearby. I put new blinds on all the windows since I took these photos.

Neighborhood

Uptown is where renters choose to live if they love entertainment. Throughout the neighborhood you’ll find everything from walking tours highlighting the hangouts of Chicago gangsters to the city's hottest nightclubs and theaters to the best shops and restaurants around. Uptown Chicago stretches along Lake Michigan and includes the popular summer hotspot Montrose Beach. For those moving to Chicago with a pet, Montrose Dog Beach is also a very popular destination. In winter, Cricket Hill is one of the city's favorite sledding spots.

What is it like to live in Uptown? It’s historic, walkable, and distinctive. Uptown is home to some fantastic landmarks, such as Aragon Ballroom. The ballroom opened in 1926, and legends about secret tunnels and Al Capone abound. During the Big Band era, the ballroom hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Glenn Miller, Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington.
