This bright and spacious lower flat unit in a 2-unit building was updated while the owner lived there and most recently had windows replaced in 2025. At over 1,500 square feet it feels more like your own home than a multi-unit building. An ideal Madison location close to campus, Monroe/Regent and Park Street shops and restaurants including Trader Joes, the Arboretum and Vilas park and beach. The kitchen has been renovated and features stainless appliances, cherry cabinetry and a breakfast bar. There is a large dining and living room with wood floors and great woodwork on the first floor along with an updated full bath and bedroom or office that walks out to a deck. The main floor has an open feel, but there are pocket doors that can separate the dining room for an alternate bedroom option. The below grade lower-level area with tile floors offers loads of windows, with another bedroom, lounge area/office, huge walk-in closet, and a second bathroom. Flexible floor plan options on how you want to utilize the space. This quiet location offers great outdoor opportunities with a cedar deck overlooking a landscaped back yard, patio for grilling, and front screened porch. Pets considered. Tenants pay portion of electric and portion of gas and water/sewer and shovel sidewalks and your two off-street parking spots if used. Free shared laundry in the building. All unit utilities likely to average around $165/month.

Historic Greenbush was established as a melting pot of different cultures. Because of urban renewal in the 1960s, much of the architecture that reflected the community’s heritage went away. However, traces of “The Bush” as many called it, remain today. One example of historic Greenbush is the Neighborhood House, a community center that provides local groups a space to meet up – just like it did over a century ago when it was founded.
When it comes to food, you can find everything from pizza parlors to international fare. Greenbush Bakery is a favorite within Madison, as it’s the only city bakery that serves kosher-certified doughnuts. Nightlife in Greenbush includes the Rockhound Brewing Company and the Rustic Tavern.
Dipping your toes in one of the many nearby beaches is sure to excite. But if that doesn’t sway you, the polar bears and tigers at Henry Vilas Zoo might.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
