About This Home
Beautifully renovated apartments in the historic barn of the Mill Pond Center. This stylishly designed studio, on the second floor, features today's modern conveniences and safety requirements while retaining the charm of the early 1900's barn. Wood floors, exposed beams, granite counters, and sleek cabinetry are just some of the design features. Directions: GPS the address 50 Newmarket Rd, Durham for directions (no street sign yet for Tavern Way). Driveway is next to the yellow Mill Pond Professional Building which is on Route 108. Historical Perspective: Originally a tavern in the 17th century, the main house was moved to its current location in the early 1900s. At this point, a gentleman farmer constructed a 5000 square foot barn. Over the years, the barn has seen farm activity before being converted a performing arts center in the 1980s. This usage lasted until the mid-2000's when all usage ceased. Our renovation is now your gain! No Pets. Absolutely No Smoking. **Residents of Arthur Thomas Properties are required to have renters’ insurance with $100,000 liability coverage, making sure you’re always covered in case of the unexpected.** Applicants should have a combined gross monthly income of at least 2x the monthly rent and a credit score of 600+, with no accounts past due or in collections. The campus dominates the landscape, with the adjacent Downtown district offering a wide selection of coffeehouses and restaurants catering to the university population and locals alike.
The local rental market is quite diverse, ranging from affordable student apartments to upscale suburban homes and everything in between. The whole town reflects the timeless character of New England, from the historic architecture to the tranquil rivers to the sprawling forests that explode with color every fall. When you’re looking for a change of scenery, Boston is only about 90 minutes down Interstate 95, and the region’s mountains and ski resorts are close at hand as well.
