About This Property
Architect-designed 1965 house on the top of winding Montecito Drive with big windows to views over Debs Park and–on clear days at least–out to the Channel Islands. 3 bedroom 1.5 bath, on two levels. We just finished a full remodel of the house to bring it back to its original open plan, with white oak floors, heath & clé tile, a gas fireplace, outdoor shower, and soaking tub underneath a huge skylight. There are two cantilevered decks and a front patio in addition to a native meadow on the hillside yard underneath the house with raised beds and fruit trees. Likely many of our mature plants (cacti, euphorbia, and a gorgeous potted meyer lemon) will stay with the house as long as renters are ok with it! A bi-monthly gardener to care for the yard is included with the rent. The gated driveway fits two cars underneath a covered carport and there are two exterior storage rooms and several big new closets indoors. Washer and dryer. The neighborhood feels very removed, like living in the 'country' but only five minutes from the shops and restaurants on Figueroa in Highland Park and walking distance to the hiking paths and hilltop lake in Debs Park. This space has been such a wonderful home for us and we are only leaving because of an unexpected work opportunity. We really want to find folks who will appreciate and care for it as much as we have. Some pets allowed pending a conversation and additional deposit. Available late August/September 1.
