Fans of HGTV's "Fixer Upper" are already familiar with Waco, a fast-growing city along the Brazos River in central Texas. Downtown Waco is where the city began, growing around the iconic Waco Suspension Bridge, completed in 1870. The bridge is located in downtown's Indian Spring Park, with Doris D. Miller Park on the other side of the bridge. Indian Spring Park is the site of Waco's original settlement. Today, in addition to the bridge, the park contains the "Branding the Brazos" Sculpture and a riverwalk.
In addition to Magnolia Market at the Silos, Waco is home to the Dr. Pepper Museum, the Earle-Napier-Kinnard House, Cameron Park Zoo, and Baylor University. The soft drink Dr. Pepper was invented in Waco in 1906, and the museum is a popular tourist destination.
