For a $100/mth utility fee, all utilities except for cable TV will be included (gas, electric, water, trash, high speed internet)--that is a big discount, but I prefer it to simplify my life. I would note that this house has a completely separate basement unit (with separate entrance, etc.), which is why I can lease the main floor at a discount. The basement unit is occupied by a very quiet and considerate long-term tenant, whom you are welcome to meet, who never goes into the backyard and who is almost never heard because of all of the installed soundproofing.
