Lenoir City sits just 25 miles southwest of Knoxville, and has a character all its own. Set along the shores of the Tennessee River, Lenoir City holds historic homes and a rich history for residents to experience. Settled in 1810 and incorporated nearly 100 years later, the city had a tumultuous past thanks to disagreements as to who settled it first. Today, itās seen new developments and a large influx of residents, though it still remains quite small with a population hovering around 9,000.
Lenoir Cityās mild climate makes it an ideal locale for those looking to settle outside a city, or somewhere with a rural feel that isnāt completely devoid of attractions. There are the requisite big-box stores and chains on the east side, but if youāre looking for local fare, Lee Highway houses a number of restaurants and cafes not far from the water.
