It's where Pocahontas was kidnapped in 1613 … and where George Washington lived as a child. Stafford, located along the Potomac River and including part of the Quantico Marine Corps Base, is located along I-95 about 40 miles southwest of Washington DC. Stafford, a large CDP with a population of about 4,400, is the county seat for Stafford County.
This fascinating town features several historic destinations, great shops and restaurants, and easy access to Quantico on its north end and historic Fredericksburg to the south. Accokeek Furnace Archeological Site is one of the area's historic sites, built around 1726. The Principio Company leased the land from George Washington's father, Augustine Washington.
Public Quarry at Government Island contains sandstone that was used to build the White House and the US Capitol building.

About the Listing Agent

Wes Stearns
M.O. Wilson Properties
A lifelong Northern Virginia resident, I bring over 25 years of experience and a legacy of service to every real estate transaction. As a proud graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Class of ’93) and former U.S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant, I began my career at Sea-Land Service, the world’s largest container shipping company, holding a U.S. Coast Guard 3rd Mate’s license and serving as an Ensign upon commissioning. Real estate runs in my blood. I’m a third-generation Realtor, following in the footsteps of my grandfather, a WWII veteran who started a real estate business in Richmond, and my father, Mo Wilson—a Vietnam veteran, former D.C. police officer, and founder of Mo Wilson Properties. Since 1999, I’ve sold over 2,500 homes, working with everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned investors. My expertise includes residential sales, new construction, land, rentals, property management, flips, and foreclosures. Licensed in Virginia and Maryland, I leverage the latest real estate technology to provide a seamless experience for my clients. For more than 18 years, I’ve proudly served on a Congressional Committee interviewing candidates for the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, continuing my commitment to service and leadership.I believe there’s nothing more rewarding than helping people achieve the American Dream of homeownership. My clients are treated like family, and many remain lifelong friends. Every transaction is handled with care, integrity, and attention to detail. My success is built on strong relationships—not only with clients but also with mortgage lenders, inspectors, appraisers, title companies, and trusted service professionals. Whether you’re buying, selling, investing, or looking for property management solutions, I’m here to help you every step of the way. Your goals are my mission.
