Best Apts in the NW!

You cannot beat the location and friendly staff you get living at Q21! The style of the apartments is unique, and the entire building is warm and welcoming. My partner & I absolutely loved our time at Q21, and would have happily stayed if life didn’t take us elsewhere. We still miss our apartment to this day.

This place is AWESOME!

I moved into Q21 and have loved this place from the first moment. Great amenities, awesome property management, and wholesome neighbors make this complex and ideal location for anyone looking to call the Slabtown District home. Among being in close proximity to so many restaurants, attractions, and shops, this complex is within minutes of Downtown but secluded enough that you do not feel as though you are living in Downtown. If you want a home that gives you that urban Portland feeling but still has a sense of community, this is your place.

Low quality building, no sound-proofing, constant theft issues

This is the worst building in the area. Very expensive. It looks nice on the outside, but real residents know the truth. There appear to be positive reviews created by the building workers. The place is has had lots of robberies: packages, bikes, car break-ins, etc. The staff are rarely in the building to assist. Noisy. No sound-proofing.

I LOVE my cozy home!!

Q21 is an amazing place to live! Its unfortunate to see 1 or 2 less than superb ratings on here, because this is truly the best community Slabtown has to offer! The staff is hands down amazing, always friendly and smiling! I love my light and bright apartment with industrial concrete floors and a modern sleek kitchen, the fabulous views and the compact washer/dryer in my unit is so convenient! Our courtyard is beautifully landscaped, offers a great relaxing atmosphere to soak up the sun and the gym has state of the art equipment without an additional membership fee coming out of my bank account! The building is always kept very clean and well maintained!! We are a pet friendly community, so at times I've seen a spot or two where someone has allowed their dog to go potty near the building (unfortunate), however the staff is seen daily cleaning and maintaining the outside areas!! Our community is fun and happening! My neighbors are wonderful people, I feel extremely safe and the parking garage is secure; we don't experience vandalism like other properties in Portland. I love seeing various residents gathered in the lobby area enjoying laughs and conversing with each other, it shows we have many developed friendships here and a positive environment! Thank you to all the Q21 staff for providing a great atmosphere! Apartment living can have its ups and downs, but my experience here has been by far the best! I LOVE my cozy home!!

Unsecure building

So many packages get stolen because UPS and Fedex are lazy and just drop off packages in the foyer near the elevators. This area is publicly accessible, it wouldn't have been hard to create a better system. Urine puddles can be found at the front and back doors. At first i thought homeless people, but then I realized that there is no place for pets to urinate so they just do on the nice wooden path leading up the building. Not a fan of stepping in that. Gross. The stairwells often appear to be pet potty areas. Why can't people just take care of their animals?

Noise

Very clean apartment and friendly management, but worst soundproofing we have ever experienced. Growing up in apartments and having lived all over Boston, Chicago, NYC, and DC, we’ve never come across a louder apartment. We’re not strangers to noise, having lived in college towns and cheap, old apartments until now. Without placing blame on anyone or anything, we have an upstairs neighbor who runs/stomps. The noise can easily surpass 80 decibels, and because of the type of noise (impact noise), it just cannot be stopped unless the person upstairs stops doing it, or places thick carpets. Unfortunately, despite multiple communications, phone call and a sit down with the neighbor, management is powerless to do anything about the matter, although I appreciate their efforts. It is worth noting that the city of Portland is also unable to help you. We have consulted 9 different noise proofing companies, all of them were impressed by the stomping noise. They have all informed us that there is nothing that can be done about ‘impact noise’, unless the building was built with further noise proofing to begin with - so really the solution is for the neighbors to take noise proofing measures, which is not enforceable. You’re really taking a huge gamble leasing at this apartment. It’s no use having a beautiful apartment if it is surrounded by the sound of a thumping, running jackhammer all day and night - this can really bring out all sorts of anxiety and frustrations that you absolutely do not want to experience in your own home. If you are renting here, I would only recommend top units or concrete ceiling units. I would highly suggest researching into this matter before considering a unit here. There are many other options available in the surrounding and we will be looking to move out as soon as we are able.

Love the Q21!

I was able to quickly end my apartment search once I had my initial tour at Q21. From the moment I walked in and talked with the front office, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for in an apartment and neighborhood. The building has all modern amenities and plenty of options like parking, storage, community room and amazing outdoor common area. One thing I love is that is that Q21 can be private and quiet and also social depending on if you want to participate. It is such a nice community as I have met amazing neighbors and friends and we all get to enjoy the amazing area in NW. Endless things to do right out the front door and the location is perfect. I am excited about all the new businesses and places opening up in this area and could not be happier with the front office service and help and amazing building. Essentially stress-free on lease, monthly payment through their fantastic website and of course friendly front office if needed! What was great about my initial meeting was there were so many options and floor plans to choose from and I was able to find the perfect unit for me and my needs. I truly enjoy calling Q21 home and I am very comforted in knowing the building and management care about me and are there to help or assist if I need anything. And of course - the views and apartment are amazing! Such a special area and fantastic location!

Needless to say I’m a minimalist and I absolutely love this centrally located space, it’s walking distance to all of the amenities and yet far enough from the hussle and bussle of city life. After 8pm the surrounding traffic dies down to where you can have some peace and quiet. The outdoor living space is located away from the street noise and actually relaxing, secure, and serene. He ladies at the leasing department are just awesome!! Very friend, engaging, and very helpful. Did I mention the complimentary coffee and warm beverage they provide daily in the lounge area. They have a fitness area and game room Which consist of a pool table, basketball arcade, ping pong table, video arcade and a nice leather couch for lounging while watching the game on a large screen tv. Needles to say they also have WiFi available in the common areas. Another plus is that’s it’s very secured. You need a key fob to access very inch of the building. So if you don’t belong in there, your stuck unless the corridor leads you to an exit, can’t double back all doors are secured. Well that’s my 10 cents worth.

Q21 Homey comfort in the City

I was looking for a quiet, nice building with amenities within walking distance of my job. Once I met Leena and saw the unit I knew I had found my new home. They were gracious and had answers to my questions and made the move easy. The staff go out of their way to plan fun events for all the tenants. I really do enjoy the diversity of people in the building and the events allow me the opportunity to get to know my neighbors. We all come from different places and are at different times in our lives but Q21 allows us to live together and appreciate the differences.

Absolute best apartment! Great buildling, staff, location

I have been living in Q21 for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier with the experience so far. In the heart of slabtown, everything is at my fingertips. New Seasons, Breakside, Core Power Yoga, and a new Orange Theory...everything is right there and walking distance. The building and apartment have lived up to all the praise I had heard prior to moving in. The management team is extremely responsive and the building is always clean and well maintained. I would recommend living here to any of my friends...in fact a good friend ended up moving in to the building because he liked the building and my apartment so much. Couldn't be happier!

What a "Pearl" in Slabtown!

We originally toured Q21 back in January before they were even open. We were challenged moving from the other side of the country to Portland due to geography and come to discover what a hot rental market it is. We were hard pressed to find a place to secure before our move and that was our biggest concern knowing that we wanted to live in the Lincoln High School district and didn't want to pay two housing payments. After finding Q21 online we made an appointment to tour - hard hats and all! Erica was professional, welcoming, and informative about the property. We fell in love with the unit. Brand new, floor to ceiling windows, clean lines, washer/dryer, microwave, alongside some industrial-like aesthetics. We were pleased that we were able to reserve the unit for a bit before we started our lease as our move date was a few months out. Even though I was out of town, Erica made it easy. Even taking pictures of our unit and sending measurements so we could begin planning our new home and ordering furniture. After moving in 3 months ago, I am still in love. I love the views, the windows, the building, the neighborhood. We significantly down-sized and still feel amazingly comfortable. Everything you need you can walk to. I feel like the New Seasons Market across the street is my personal pantry. I love being so close to all the shops and restaurants on 21st/23rd and even walking to a Timbers or Thorns game. (Favorites include: Please Louise Pizza, Bamboo Sushi, Pok Pok, Ken's Artisan Bakery, Southland (Wednesday is half price whiskey and their meats are amazing). The staff continues to be professional, friendly, and attentive. We also sincerely appreciated the tenant party they hosted for us in August - a wonderful way to meet more great neighbors. More bonuses: fitness center, community rooms, coffee machine, and Root Whole Body located in the building - amazing. Having traded in the suburbs for an urban life was a very good decision.
