Rated 2 out of 5?by If your expectations are low, you won't be disappointed Best bargain in the area however, expectations in quality should be low! During my five years at Carydale, we were infested with bedbugs, mice, and roaches. The first two were 'seasonal problems' but the roaches thrive year round. Routinely, contractor staff would enter our apartments (not the regular maintenance staff) and leave our doors unlocked/unsecured, track dirt in, and once left sunflower seed shells all over my floor. The upstairs apartment leaked regularly and I had to listen to loud music at all times of the day from surrounding units. Also the fire alarm system frequently malfunctioned causing tenants to evacuate needlessly several dozen times. This went on for almost two years til the day I left. If you are willing to 'rough-it' in exchange for saving a few bucks, this can work for you. All utilities were included in my rent so I used the ac/heat liberally and they always worked well. There is a convenience store in the building; it is grossly overpriced but so convenient on sick days/snow days. The office staff and the majority of other tenants are very nice. There is ample parking and it's free. You are located next to lost of dining options, gas stations, metro, and expressways. My favorite aspect of the apartment was my view from the 7th story. If you are looking to save some money, this place is as good as it gets for the immediate area. Luxury and charm, it has not. January 17, 2013
