    Every Fourth of July since 1927, Cumberland hosts the Arnold Mills Fourth of July Parade and Road Race. In August, the town is home to Cumberlandfest, which offers fireworks, live entertainment, and carnival rides and games. Cumberlandfest proceeds benefits the town's athletic teams. For Halloween, the Cumberland Town and Recreational Department puts on a haunted "Spook Trail" in the woods in Diamond Hill Park. Also in Diamond Hill Park, the town puts on a Spring Festival with Easter Egg hunt, mobile petting zoo, and other attractions.

    Transportation Options in Cumberland, RI

    RIPTA, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, operates a bus system with service to Cumberland, Woonsocket, Lincoln, Providence and other communities in Rhode Island. RIPTA riders can pay per ride, or purchase a 24-hour pass, a 7-day pass, a monthly pass, or a 10-pack of individual rides. Cumberland is also very car friendly, with easy highway access to Providence and 95, which connects to Boston, New Haven, and New York. Cumberland does not have train service; however, MBTA service is available in neighboring Attleboro (MA) for service to Boston, and Amtrak train service to New Haven, New York, and Boston is available in downtown Providence, just a 15-mile drive away. A very car-friendly community, Cumberland has ample public parking along the street and in terms of house, condo, and apartment driveways.
