Rated 3 out of 5?by Never had a problem My roommate an I moved into highland manor last winter and we have had a good experience. The apartment included utilities and it was always warm during the winter. The apartment we moved into was very clean and had a lot of closet space. It also has a great very spacious living room. We also use the storage unit in the basement which is huge. Anytime I have had a question or concern it was answered quickly by the staff. The only problem fr us is the during the summer it is very hot and the windows are to small for standard air conditioners. I bought a portable air conditioner but it was more expensive. We have never had bugs or anything in out apartment. Overall it has been a pleasant living experience. September 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5?by Don't do it! I am so disappointed in Highland Manor that I don't even know where to begin. For starters, the actual apartments are nothing like the display apartments. Handles are breaking off of our kitchen cabinets and water backs up in to the kitchen sink from the laundry room, yet regardless of the numerous maintenance requests, something has yet to be done about either issues. Since we moved in there has been an issue with water from our shower leaking in to the laundry room and while some one has been out 3 or 4 times, it still isn't fixed. The maintenance men come out when ever they want, with out notice, and leave a mess in there wake. The same maintenance men complain about having to salt the side walks when it is icy out and when they do actually salt, they rush through it. My fianc? has fallen three times on ice and my 4 year old son has slipped more times than I can count. More than just our apartment though, I'm disappointed in the complex over all. The leasing office staff (newly hired) are extremely rude and disrespectful. When having issues with our shower, my fianc? was told "Well, I hope you find some where to get clean." (He is a mechanic and often comes home covered in grease.) The dumpsters outside are always over flowing with trash, which is including (but not limited to) old dirty couches, beat up entertainment centers, and busted toilets. Not only is it an eye sore, it's also a hazard. There is a basket ball court off to the side of the grounds; however, it is in shambles. The pavement is so cracked that it's unsafe to play on. These apartments are not worth the over-inflated prices that they charge. Even with the move-in special that takes $140 off a month, I feel as though we're being robbed. We haven't even lived here a full year yet and already regret the move immensely. If something doesn't change soon we will not be renewing our lease and I wouldn't recommend these apartments, or any other property owned by Berger, to ANY one. My words of advice if you're considering this place? "DON'T DO IT." February 26, 2013
