Rated 1 out of 5?by HAGsadkfba J DO NOT LIVE HERE!
The apartment itself is ok and the office and maintenance staff are very nice. However, the noise from neighbors and kids and the lack of respect for the property from the other people who live here is AWFUL! The ceiling in the hallway has caved in at lease twice from bad pipes. The maintenance staff is quick to try to resolve the issue, but the fact that it has happens more than once makes me think they didn't repair it properly (probably cause they didn't want to spend the money)
I have called several times to get my fridge and dishwasher fixed. The fridge's compressor is going out and it makes a SCARY "klunck" noise many many times a day. All they do is come in to "adjust" it (it never does anything) Also, my dishwasher does not clean my dishes and leaks once in awhile. They're solution to these problems? They told me to use less soap. I now handwash most of my dishes. What REALLY makes me mad about this is that I KNOW they are putting in new appliances in vacant apartments and I have had problems with these appliances since I moved in (I lived here since March 2012)
The people who live in this building are disrespectful and loud. Children run up and down the hallways and use profanities. On two occasions I have come home to a young boy (about 4 years old) laying crying outside my door. When I ask him where his mom or dad are he says he doesn't know, at which time, the lady across the hall has opened the door and asked her son if he was ready to behave and come inside. So, that's the kind of parenting going on here...
Also, people in this building never seem to sleep. Maybe I just got some bad luck on my neighbors....but the walls are so thin I am CONSTANTLY woken up at all hours to loud talking/laughing/music/video games. When I leave my room to sleep on the couch, thinking it would be quieter, I am kept awake by my neighbor on the other side. I have called the cops so many times they know me. The neighbors above me walk around like there's cement on their feet or they're moving furniture all day. I have no idea how anyone makes that much noise just walking! It literally shakes my apartment.
Also, people throw garbage everywhere, there is dog poo everywhere, and today I ACTUALLY found DOG POO INSIDE in the hallway.
The work out room is not 24 hours, so if you want to work out before work, you can't. This really made me angry when it's below zero out and I can't get my run in. Isn't the fitness center supposed to be one of the perks?? I guess I need a gym membership, after-all.
I really like the staff...they are nice and do what they can, but I'm sure what they are actually able to do is limited.
So, avoid at all costs. I'm getting out early. I have to pay rent and a deposit at my new place while I technically still have my apartment at Elm Creek, but I don't care. I need to get out of here for my sanity and before I get fired for not being able to perform my job because I'm not able to sleep at night thanks to the trash that I call my neighbors.
